Mikä Lindu on? Lindu on lintu karjalaksi. Lindu on maalausteni, taideprojektieni ja taiteeni näkyväksi tekemisen koti. Lindu syntyi, koska maalausten paikka ei ole varastossa, vaan nähtävillä. Taiteen tekeminen ja siitä nauttiminen on universaalia, vaikka tätä ominaisuutta onkin kautta historian- myös nykypäivänä- koetettu paikoin tukahduttaa ja valjastaa vallan rattaisiin. Jo luolamaalaukset osoittavat sen; ihmisellä on tarve kuvata ja kertoa tarinoita myös kuvin.
Uskon, ettei kenenkään tarvitse olla tai ilmentää vain yhtä asiaa. Itse olen kirjailija, taiteilija, monta tutkintoa eri aloilta suorittanut monessa eri tehtävässä toiminut ja toimiva. En määritä itseäni kuitenkaan millään tittelillä tai ammatilla. Olen jos jotenkin pitää esitellä, haluan sanoa: olen ihminen, nainen ja teen taidetta. Itseni, ja toivottavasti muidenkin iloksi.

STORY
What is Lindu? Lindu means "bird" in the Karelian language. Lindu is the home for my paintings, my art projects, and for making my art visible. Lindu was born from the idea that paintings do not belong in storage — they belong where they can be seen. Creating art and enjoying it is universal, even though throughout history — and even today — this human trait has sometimes been suppressed or harnessed to serve systems of power. Even cave paintings show this: humans have a need to depict and tell stories through images as well.
I believe that no one needs to be only one thing or express only one identity. I myself am a writer, an artist, someone who has completed several degrees in different fields and who has worked and continues to work in many different roles. Yet I do not define myself by any title or profession. If I must introduce myself somehow, I prefer to say: I am a human being, a woman, and I make art — for my own joy, and hopefully for the joy of others as well.
